I still remember Uncle Bobby as a kindly man who spoke softly and with a great sense of enthusiasm and humour. For a young teenager, as I was in Dulwich, it always surprising how honestly he talked with me and with no adult condescention, and although I hadn't seen him for many years, when we spoke on the phone, his voice always evoked in me memories of those times so long ago.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him - but also gratitude that they did.

POEM
When a man walks away and look behind
He sees the faces of the people he has left behind
When a man walks away and turns
He sees the love in their eyes
When a man walks away and turns again
He sees the memories he has left behind in their faces
And when the man walks away
Turns again for the final time
He takes with him that he will always
Be remembered and loved.
